Some contests include qualification phases, as well as quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final. Typically, the qualification phase lasts until the final two days of the contest, when the top 100 participants are selected for the quarter-finals. One day before the contest ends, the top 20 participants move on to the semi-finals. Finally, one hour before the contest concludes, the top 3 participants compete in the final.

The final ranking and prizes are announced only after the contest ends. Even if you do not qualify and can no longer vote, the rankings may still change if a qualified participant withdraws. In such a case, you could still be re-selected (qualified again). Note that your votes are retained between the different phases.
